He actually went SSJ4 a lot faster than Goku. But everything after that was Vegeta's doing. Something he would do on his own do if he had tail and something he already "cheated" in Saiyan saga. Still, in the end the only thing Vegeta "cheated" was transformation into Oozaru. Because transformation was forced, not because he or GT crew forgot that he can control it. This is also a reason why everyone was scared when Vegeta went furious. If he had a tail, he wouldn't lose it no matter what. So even though it seemed Vegeta possibly faked his rampage before turning SSJ4, he still had a reason to lose control for a while if he really did. He was even ready to destroy entire planet Tuffle just to kill Goku despite him dying as well. Old Kai commented that Baby's eyes looked strained due to forced transformation effects strating to show up. Baby could control Oozaru because he was a parasite but it still affected him. But why did he behave like he actually lost it?Įven earlier, back in Baby saga, Old Kai said that forcing transformation without a tail is very dangerous and can make saiyan go rampage and become unstoppable. So they totally didn't forget about that. Few episodes earlier, Bulma commented that Vegeta, unlike Goku, can control Oozaru and that he should turn into SSJ4 very easily after she turn him into Oozaru (once again, she turns him into Oozaru, not SSJ4). The problem is that people who repeat that never watched entire GT and only watched fragments on YouTube, with english dub very often which makes things even worse because dub missed a lot of important statements. It's so strong it forces saiyan body to transform into Oozaru without a tail. Machine Bulma built is far stronger than fake moon and even real moon. Why didn't he use fake moon in GT then? Because he doesn't have a tail. It only turns you into Oozaru ( NOT SSJ4).
Machine only emits Bruits waves and it's the same kind of "cheat" as fake moon Vegeta used in DBZ. When talking about GT, many people seem to ask why didn't Bulma turn Gohan and others into SSJ4 with a machine? The answer is: because there is no such machine (it was also implied you have to be pure saiyan but that's not the point here). People say that Vegeta cheated his way, that "real" Vegeta would never do that or that he shouldn't lose control. I'd like to give some explanation about Vegeta's SSJ4 form since many people do not understand what and why happened.
